General Nest Collection Care
Important Information.
When you design or select your Nest Collection, you want it to last, as intended, for many years.
It’s important to realise Nests are created using two very different fabrics. Warwick™ macrosuede or macro soft and Defab® duraproof 12. Each should be treated independently according to attached specifications.
Upon purchasing your Nest Collection or your Otautau Design Pack, you’ll also receive detailed care advice and information regarding Warwick Halo, a new generation of in-built, hard wearing, easy clean fabric technology.
Common Sense Instructions.
In addition to the care instructions both provided and attached by both Warwick and Defab, we are providing our own set of Common Sense Instructions, to help prevent unnecessary hardship to or wearing on your Nest Collection pieces.
Ignoring of these instructions will unfortunately absolve any warranty given with the purchase of your Nest Collection.
Rough or Sharp surfaces.
While The Nest Collection is suitable for use on floorboards, decking, carpet, grass, smooth tiles, polished or painted concrete, it is not suitable for use on rough or sharp concrete or paved surfaces. To do so may result in the wearing of external top-stitching and thus absolving any warranty provided at the time of purchase.
Top-stitching.
We use a polyester/cotton core spun thread, that not only offers beautiful finishing qualities but also provides great strength.
In-Built Handles.
We have provided handles in all Nests to encourage carrying rather than dragging, particularly across rough or sharp surfaces.
Canvas.
Defab duraproof 12 canvas is produced for the extremes of the Australian climate. It is traditionally used in awnings, tents, swags, camper trailers, horse covers and bags or packs, thus it is an ideal fabric for exposure to the ground.
However, common sense suggests that over time, such exposure will produce a used or worn appearance. This should not alarm, as it’s not a sign of losing its many qualities but simply doing the job expected, protecting the macrosuede pieces above.
Linings and Zips.
Nests and Wedges are not designed for use without their linings. To do so, would increase the likelihood of filling being released.
All linings and Wedges have lock down zip sliders and should be pressed down against the zip teeth when closed.
All Nests have protective pockets that zip sliders should be pushed firmly into when closed to keep sliders from being exposed to floors or children.
Colourfastness, Rubbing and Fire.
Warwick macrosuede and macro soft meet and exceed industry requirements with regard to colourfastness, rubbing and fire hazard properties. However constant or over exposure to direct sunlight, sparks or flames or excessive rubbing may result in the deterioration of your Nest Collection.
Warwick Halo.
Halo Fabric Care Kits are available for purchase through Otautau Designs. These contain spot cleaner, deodoriser and fabric protector. Care kits can be purchased as a package or each bottle individually.
Washing Machines.
The Nest Collection is not suitable for cleaning in a washing machine. Please follow care labels for cleaning instructions. Remember that the two different fabrics should be treated independently.
